ELKHART, Ind., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Coachmen Industries, Inc. (NYSE: COA) today announced the appointment of a senior management team for the Company's Housing and Building Group. Rick Bedell will rejoin the Company as the President of Consolidated Building Industries, LLC, dba The Coachmen Housing and Building Group. Mr. Bedell was formerly the President of Miller Building Systems, Inc., which was sold by Coachmen Industries in 2006. He has extensive experience in the modular construction industry as well as management of multi-plant operations. He was previously President of the Modular Building Institute, and served on their Board of Directors for four years. Rick Lavers, Coachmen's Chief Executive Officer commented, "We are extremely pleased to have Rick back in our Housing and Building Group.

The Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors has bought a 1,250-square-foot home built by local students in an effort to help boost affordable housing in Central Virginia. The Realtors association today will announce details of its purchase of the three-bedroom, two-bath modular home and its future site for roughly $130,000. The house will be transported to a property in Scottsville, where it will be sold to a family at the home's market value of between $180,000 and $200,000. The family also will be granted access to a zero-interest loan, down payment assistance and other aid. "We're purchasing the house to do some good in our back yard," said Dave Phillips, CEO of the association. "It's a nice little house." The profits from the home sale will be dedicated to CAAR's workforce housing fund, which has so far helped seven public employees - such as teachers, nurses, police officers and firefighters - find affordable housing in the Charlottesville area.
December 6, 2006 - The average worker in Pima County earns $13.24 an hour - not enough to buy or even rent a home, according to the Arizona Department of Housing.A resident of Pima County needs to earn more than $30 an hour to buy a house, statistics show.In the face of these numbers, town of Marana officials plan to take an aggressive approach to affordable housing. Initial plans include 75 to 100 affordable homes in Honea Heights, by federal definition a Colonia or low-income neighborhood. .
